About Me
Louise Kirby
Pro Dog Trainer, Behaviour & Nutrition Coach
My name’s Louise. I’m a Pro Dog Trainer, Behaviour & Nutrition Coach working with dogs that struggle with everyday situations, including reactivity, anxiety, and over-arousal.
I help owners who feel like behaviour is starting to take over, whether that’s stressful walks, barking, pulling, or a dog that just can’t seem to settle.
My Approach
My training is science-based and force-free.
I don’t use punishment, physical corrections, intimidation, or training gadgets designed to suppress behaviour. Instead, I focus on understanding what is driving the behaviour and helping the dog develop the skills they need to cope more successfully.
Behaviour change comes from lowering stress, improving emotional responses, and teaching dogs practical ways to navigate situations they currently find difficult.
When a dog feels safer and more capable, behaviour begins to change in a way that is sustainable for both the dog and the owner.
How I Work
I use structured behaviour plans, carefully designed training games, and practical strategies that help dogs build calmness, confidence, and resilience over time.
I work closely with owners throughout the process so you understand what your dog is experiencing and how to support real, lasting progress.
Everything is focused on real-life situations, so the training holds up where you actually need it — at home and out on walks.
Qualifications
My background combines qualifications in behaviour, education, and canine nutrition, including:
- BA (Hons)
- PGCE
- Certified Pro Dog Trainer
- BCCSDip.HthNut
This gives me a strong foundation in how animals learn, how behaviour develops, and how environment, stress, and emotional state influence the way dogs respond to the world around them.
